Pretty good, relatively speaking. November 27, 2009 Owenbound (Florence, KY) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I really liked this book. I thought the layout was nice and it did a pretty good job of explaining each of the sections. The online portion was good as it had plenty of practice exams and monthly quizzes. I had a Princeton Review online course before and compared to that, Kaplan was amazing! All that being said, I rate this a 5 stars probably not 100% due to the content of this book, but because of what I used before, Kaplan was 50x better than the PR course I bought.
One of the Cons of this program: On the practice exams, it shows you a graphical breakdown between your Quant and Verbal sections, but it does not show you a break down among the sub sections like CR, RC, SC, PS, and DS. That would have been nice so you could see which areas were your weakest.
For the money, a GREAT deal!
Awesome companion for the dedicated student March 15, 2010 Anne C. Lindstrom (Janesville, WI) This book is very insightful and has helped immensely in my beginning studies for my GMAT!
Before and After Review June 15, 2010 Sam I Am (San Rafael, CA) BEFORE:
I plan to get my MBA after many years in the workforce and owning a business. I am taking some prerequesites at the local colleges but I need the GMAT to be accepted in my local program. I have done well in my courses but the GMAT will be my first real test if I "have the stuff" to do well in my graduate studies. I am looking forward to utilizing Kaplan GMAT 2010-2011 Premier for my preparation. By initial review, all the tools seem to be in place to help me raise my score.
I will report my results after six months and tell you how well it helped me.
Kaplan Sets The Standard July 15, 2010 John P. Thiel (Astoria, Queens, New York City) What I like about this product is that it assumes you have the level of competency to do well on the GMAT, and seeks to enable you to reinforce that competency while preparing you for the format and content of the particular test.
It does not serve the lowest common denominator and thereby frustrate people who have done the work to get to this point in their academic and business careers already. It is not a substitute.
At the same time, it provides plenty of support for learning areas that may be a gap in an individuals knowledge or experience that they will be tested for competency on.
Obviously, Kaplan is the standard on test prep because they do the thorough research needed before hand. You really couldn't expect better out of any company.
Definitely worth the money! July 15, 2010 webebuyers (Indiana) Expensive, but this study guide is amazingly complete. It will take you weeks to carefully go through this guide, but you can take sample tests along the way to see your improvement. This will definitely help you get higher test scores!
